SAINT-MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The hands of local medical personnel were blessed today during a special event at Sisters of Providence at Saint Mary-of-the-woods.
The event was in honor of national nurses week. Sisters of providence offered a blessing of hands for local nurses and medical personnel.
Chaplain Terry Johnson says this is a way to thank medical personnel for their care, and for being a steady force during the pandemic.
“To acknowledge the dedication and the loyalty and the perseverance that the nurses and all the medical personnel have shown to us and the care that they’ve given to us,” said Johnson.
The blessing was offered to all nurses in the community including those who are retired or enrolled as students in nursing programs.
